First Downtown Show & Share Workshop a Success
On Wednesday, September 3rd the Walas team hosted the first of a series of informative show and share workshops as part of the Chilliwack Downtown Plan.
Twenty downtown business and property owners came together at the new UFV Five Corners Campus to brainstorm ideas that could further contribute to the Chilliwack Downtown Plan. They were grouped together with a variety of other businesses and shared their unique concerns, success stories and vision for the future. Together they brainstormed answers to complex questions, including: "What will it take to create a vibrant downtown?" and "What does a walkable downtown look like?"
"This was a great workshop, full of passion and enthusiasm," said Barb Kemp, Community Manager with Walas Concepts Inc. for the Chilliwack Downtown Plan. "There was no such thing as a bad idea and by the end of the evening it was evident that everyone was eager to contribute to a vital downtown core."
Future show and share workshops are planned and a short report with the ideas from the first workshop will be shared with participants.
More information about the multifaceted Chilliwack Downtown Plan is available on this website. To share an idea or vision for the revitalization of Chilliwack’s downtown, please contact Barb Kemp at (604) 793-5977 or at email@example.com.
